Lion’s Mane Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
1 large Lion's Mane mushroom chunk (~10 oz)
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp mushroom seasoning (or a blend of dried thyme, oregano, and a pinch of salt)
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, mushroom seasoning, mustard, and black pepper.
Marinate the Mushrooms: Place the Lion's Mane mushroom in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Cover and let sit for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the mushroom to absorb the seasonings.
Heat the Skillet: Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small drizzle of olive oil to coat the bottom.
Cook the Lion’s Mane Steaks: Once the skillet is hot, add the marinated mushroom and press firmly with a spatula or burger press into a 1/2 inch “steak.” Sear for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside, while remaining tender on the inside.
Serve: Remove the steak from the skillet, slice, and serve immediately, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Enjoy your savory Lion’s Mane mushroom steak!
